Travel Writing
Between 1995 and 1999 I worked as a freelance journalist
and copywriter in Chicago for publications like Screen Magazine
and PerformInk and companies like Media Options.
After a longish interlude in Australia hacking perl code and writing plays,
I'm back at the coal face as a guidebook author for Lonely Planet.
I co-authored their 2007 guidebook to Venezuela , and the 2008 guidebooks
to the Dominican
Republic & Haiti and the Caribbean
Islands. I'm currently
at work as the Co-ordinating Author of the new Lonely Planet guidebook
to Colombia.
The Guardian wrote a
profile about my conversion to travel writing.
Opium Magazine published this humorous travel story about life in Colombia.
