Jens Porup

Jens is an expatriate author, playwright, and freelance journalist living
in Cali, Colombia.

His plays include Thy Fearful Symmetry, Very Skinny People, The Twelve
Zorros, and Ariadne's Lament. Two of his short stories have been
podcast by Wordknot Audio (now, sadly, defunct).

He co-authored Lonely Planet's guidebooks to Venezuela,
the Dominican Republic & Haiti, and the Caribbean Islands.
He sometimes writes hotel reviews for the LP website.

Jens studied Philosophy, ancient Greek, and Latin at Northwestern,
playwriting and screenwriting at Chicago Dramatists, acting at
ActOne Studios, and long-form improv at ImprovOlympic.

A native of Sacramento, California and a long-time resident of both
Chicago and Melbourne, Australia, he now lives mostly in Cali, Colombia,
where he can be found clattering away on his various writing projects
and practicing his salsa dance moves.

Jens is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America,
the Australian Writers' Guild, and the Chicago Dramatists
Playwrights' Network.
