Jens Porup
Jens is an expatriate novelist, playwright, and freelance journalist.
He is the author of The Judas
Syndrome, a new novel about the
conflict in Colombia. Jens is currently seeking representation
and a publisher for this title.
His plays include Thy Fearful Symmetry, Very Skinny People, The Twelve
Zorros, and Ariadne's
Lament. Two of his short stories have been podcast by Wordknot Audio
(now, sadly, defunct).
He co-authored Lonely Planet's
guidebooks to Venezuela,
the Dominican
Republic & Haiti and the Caribbean
Islands.
He is recently finished work on the new Lonely Planet guidebook to Colombia.
Jens studied Philosophy, ancient Greek, and Latin at Northwestern,
playwriting and screenwriting at Chicago Dramatists, acting at
ActOne Studios, and long-form improv at ImprovOlympic.
A native of Sacramento, California and a long-time resident of Chicago,
Melbourne, Australia, and Cali, Colombia, he divides his time between
North and South America.
Jens is a member of the Dramatists
Guild of America,
the Australian Writers' Guild,
and the Chicago Dramatists Playwrights' Network.
